What the codex says

The game's own bestiary gives it a name the legends use: Ulth-Sha'korr, the Walker Between Roots. It is described as bark bent into human form — which is exactly how it reads in the trees until it moves.

Standing orders

It cannot be killed, only driven back, and it targets explorers who have wandered off alone. Its sight is only 8 m but it hears at 18 m, so it is functionally blind up close and deaf to nothing: a lone, loud explorer is precisely its prey. Stay in pairs and stay quiet and it mostly leaves you be.

How it finds you

Detection runs on two separate senses and this creature's are uneven: sight 8 m, hearing 18 m. It hears far better than it sees — noise discipline matters more than cover here. Full detection notes are on the survival guide.

Prowler questions

How much HP does the Prowler have in The Mound?

150 HP, and it takes — damage. These are community measurements cross-checked against the 1.0 build; the game never shows you a health bar with numbers on it.

Can you kill the Prowler in The Mound?

No. The Prowler can be driven back but not killed. It is a hazard to manage, not a fight to win — the design intent is to punish wandering off alone.

How does the Prowler find you?

By sound, mostly. Its measured sight range is 8 m against a hearing range of 18 m, so noise draws it from more than twice the distance it can see you.
