The unofficial wiki forThe MoundOmen of Cthulhu
Every weapon, enemy, saint and contract — written up like an expedition journal, not a data dump. We play the runs, take the notes, and re-check the numbers against each patch. Currently tracking build 1.01.
Conquistador greed, Lovecraft dread
Set in the age of the conquistadors, The Mound drops a crew of up to four explorers into a cursed jungle to haul treasure out of a place that does not want to be robbed. It is built on H.P. Lovecraft's 1930 novella of the same name, and its signature trick is sanity: the deeper you push, the less you can trust what you see — or what your friends say they see.
Sanity is personal
Hallucinations happen to one player at a time. Your crew sees the truth — they're your only reliable instrument.
The forest keeps score
Every gunshot and snapped branch winds a hidden clock. Run out of quiet and the jungle wakes up angry.
The ox-wagon lifeline
Rolling treasure hold, light source, sanity anchor and resurrection station — and it leaves tracks home.
Crossplay crews
Steam, PS5 and Xbox sail together at launch, with proximity voice chat the sanity system loves to poison.

Quick answers
When does The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu come out?
July 15, 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A free demo is on Steam now.
Is The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu crossplay?
Yes — crossplay is supported at launch across Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so a mixed crew can run expeditions together. Cross-progression (carrying your save between platforms) has not been confirmed.
How much does The Mound cost?
$29.99 for the standard edition and $39.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which adds the Temple of Yig mission, two extra playable characters and a gear cosmetics pack. Pre-orders run about 10% off on consoles.
How many players is The Mound?
Expeditions run with 1–4 players in online co-op. You can go in solo, but the game is tuned around a crew.
Is there couch or local co-op?
No. Co-op is online only — there is no couch, split-screen or local co-op mode. There is built-in proximity voice chat, so the game wants you talking in-world rather than on Discord.
Is The Mound free?
No, it's a paid game ($29.99). The free part is the Steam demo, which is live now and covers roughly the opening hours of the expedition loop.
